“I just arrived to the Rome Termini train station and on my way to Napoli.

“Arrived to Napoli! It is a bit rainy and cold (nothing a scarf can’t fix) but I have to say, this is a wonderful way to experience the centro storico (aka historical center) because everything is less crowded and it just sparked in a different light!

Wednesday, March 2 • in Phlegraean Fields.
“Another epic day with Mindthenap !
Today we went to the area that is known The Phlegraean Fields (burning fields) which is an area that sits on top of volcano located in the western outskirts of the city of Naples in the Gulf of Pozzuoli.
It was also the vacation spot of the Romans who built giant villas, thermal baths and so much more
We went to the archeolocal park at Baiae, saw the Macellum in Pozzuoli, and so many other places. There is never enough time to see everything which is why it’s necessary to keep coming back.
Next visit we will go in the underwater submarine thing and see the part of the Baiae that is totally under the water.

“It doesn’t matter how cold it is, it’s always gelato time..especially when you are in Italy!!
This gorgeous cone of deliciousness is coffee and nocciola (hazelnut)….and in Italy they put panna (whipped cream) on it too!
I’m in Salerno (the larger town located at the bottom of the Amalfi Coast) doing research for our 2022 tours.
Finding the best gelato place definitely requires researchlots and lots of research

“It’s so cold today in Salerno I had to buy a warmer scarf!
Brrr and strong wind.
Yes , I’m wearing my mask here. In Campania you are required to wear it inside everywhere and you see many many people wearing it outside too, especially in the smaller streets in the historic parts of the city.
If you are concerned about being in italy during these times honestly I feel safer here! They have very strict rules still in place here, the green pass is required everywhere and masks are worn inside always.
Please consider traveling this year to italy. Trust me, it’s just as wonderful as it was before or how you have imagined it would be.

“Piazza Dante at night! It’s Cold but the piazza is filled with music!
In these times, the sweet sound of music that fills the air is just a little bit sweeter .
I will never take for granted these special experiences. These little things fills my heart with such emotions.

“This is Mario Cecere, most important he is a really close friend AND he is an amazing pizzaiolo, or a pizza chef. Pizzaioli are masters of their craft and in Italy it is a really big deal.
Finally after an incredible amount of hard work, persistence and a drive to be the best -he has opened his pizzeria is his home town of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The area of Capua is very important through Italian history. It’s colleseum is the second largest (the one in Rome being the first) and is famous for the Spartacus revolt AND where the gladiators practiced. Look it up online and you will get a deeper understanding.
Now, there is another reason to visit!!
PIZZA
Here you will find a master of his craft making some of the most delicious pizza in Italy!
If you are anywhere close to Naples you need to stop here and taste truly culinary pizza magic!
